A new season of winter is approaching and we hope you are excited as we are! To make sure you aren't unprepared for another awesome season of riding, we have provided a checklist get you on your way.
Equipment Tune and Wax
Make sure you check your winter gear for scratches on the base and cracks on the topsheet. Also it is a great idea to start your season off with a fresh coat of wax so that you aren't left in the dust when riding with your friends! We have a shop crew of able snowboard and ski repairers and tuners to make sure your equipment is ready. Bring it into Sun n Fun and we will be sure fine tune your equipment correctly for the impending snow. And always remember that new equipment will have the best coat of wax right off the show room floor. So it isn't necessary to tune your new ride, you'll just ruin a perfectly good base!
Perfect Outerwear
The winters in the midwest can be quite arctic midseason. Make sure you have the correct outerwear to deal with these conditions! All our pants and jackets are quality products made to keep you dry and protect you from the elements. Make sure you practice good layering with your outerwear. A tight first layer of microfleece will make sure you stay warm at the skin level and wick away sweat on warmer days. For those really cold days it's a good idea to pack a second layer under your jacket. We have many fleeces that perform well in these conditions. With three layers of outerwear you will be prepared for whatever weather conditions are thrown at you!
The Small Important Things
These include good gloves, hats, socks, goggles, neckwarmers and portable tools. Also a helmet if you are an extra careful rider and don't want to crack your noggin. We stock everything you would need in our store and would be happy to help you find the perfect accessories for this winter.
